Welcome Back to My Enchanted World: A Return to Wonderment

Dear Enchanted Ones,

Thank you, from the depths of my heart, for still being here and reading my first post for…..oh my goodness I think over a year?! Anyway, it has been a very, very long time!

Please believe me when I say that your presence reading this right now, or still visiting my blog in any way, is a cherished gift beyond all expressions of gratitude. I’m so sorry life has taken me away from this space, which means everything.

As I sink deeply into the soothing ginger and vanilla tea beside me, it is with an open heart, a softened spirit, and a renewed sense of purpose that I welcome you back to my enchanted world. Or what I am calling: A return to wonderment.

Like any long absence, so much must be going on in your world. So, how is your heart this season my fellow wondrous soul? Have you managed to find some enchantment and wonder in your days? I’d be honoured to hear about it in the comments below if you feel called to share.

It feels both surreal and comforting to be back in this sacred space with you. After a much-needed pause, my heart is ready to share once again, though gently, reverently, and in alignment with my capacity.

As Alexandra David-Néel so beautifully expressed:

“To the one who knows how to look and feel, every moment of this free wandering life is an enchantment.”

This blog, my most loyal friend and steadfast companion since 2009 (can you believe?! My blog is now a teenager!!!) has been my sanctuary, my confidante, and the sacred vessel where I have poured my musings, discoveries, and enchantments for over a decade.

My blog is not just a corner of the internet; it is the space where my soul unfurls, where enchantment is distilled into words and shared with you. It is, quite simply, everything. So you might be wondering, then, how on earth I could have neglected it for so long…..

Reflecting On An Inner Harvest

As my birthday approaches on the 27th of November, I find myself naturally reflective. This time of year always brings an inner harvest, a moment to sit with the seeds I’ve planted and consider how I’ve tended to them as the gardener of my life.

How do I feel at this age with the fruits of my efforts? What is my relationship to the systems and routines that support my life? These questions invite me to pay attention to the details, to get intimate with my values, and to recalibrate my priorities.

After all, resources — time, energy, love, money — are finite. Just ask the Sun: even its radiant light is measured and consistent, an efficient system that sustains life itself.

This 2024 year I have traversed with ‘Shine’ as my word of the year which has brought with it the clarity of realising how precious my energy is and how intentional I must be with the limited hours I have.

Coming to the end of my “Year Of Shine” I at long last, I am finally coming to an intimate understanding that what gives me the confidence to shine is working with slowness and meticulous attention to the work etched before me.

Like Mary Oliver’s enduring question, “What is it you want to do with this one precious life?”, I find myself standing at the precipice of choice. How will I honour both the alchemy within me and the boundaries I must respect?

With this, capacity and accessibility have been two themes at the forefront of my thoughts: particularly in a world that feels accessible 24/7.

Systems require maintenance, and this is as true for our inner worlds as it is for the practical structures of our lives.

A huge part of why I needed to step back was because I hadn’t been able to lovingly tend to many of the systems in my life, including this blog.

Nearly a year and a half ago, I lost critical details associated with it and then faced countless hosting issues.

At the same time, my email systems faltered, and because the health system of my life is so overwhelming to maintain (as I always say, chronic illness is a full-time job), I buried these problems in the hopes they’d resolve themselves.

But they didn’t. I ignored my blog entirely, not even opening it until the ache of its neglect became too loud to ignore.

That ache recently moved me to take aligned action, to unravel the knots, and to begin lovingly stewarding this space once more.

It was a moment of reckoning for me; realising that even though I pride myself on taking care of everything I hold dear, I had been pushed beyond my capacity.

In those moments of overwhelm, I leaned into my former word of the year, Simplicity. That guiding light reminded me to sift through the noise, to honour and illuminate what truly matters.

And as it turns out, I couldn’t run away from what matters most to me: this blog and my desire to teach through The Academy of The Enchanted Arts. These are my anchors, my North Star, and they are what I’m devoting myself to with renewed clarity.

Through this journey, the most profound lesson has been learning to dance with the moment — to do what I can with the resources I have, and to let that be enough. The shame and self-judgment that accompany unmet expectations have no place in a life lived with reverence.

Instead, I am choosing to meet myself with love and grace, knowing that each small, steady step forward is part of a greater rhythm.

Reclaiming the Soul of Blogging

As I step back into the familiar embrace of my blog, I find myself longing for a slower, more soulful way of being online.

There is just something indescribable about the early days of blogging. A time when I carried a small digital camera around my neck, snapping photos of exhibitions, flower-filled cafés, and the simple beauty of everyday life that feels more aligned with my soul than the current landscape of content creation.

The pressure to perform, to produce, to constantly “be on” for an audience has reached dizzying heights. But as I stumbled upon these words on Pinterest, they struck a chord deep within me:

“Take the pressure off yourself to perform for the world. Perform for yourself—for your own pleasure. Because the truth is, when you authentically show up in ways that delight you, you add such light to the world. There is nothing more magnetic than someone fully owning who they are and doing the things that bring them joy.”

What a revolutionary act it feels to prioritise joy and pleasure in a world that demands urgency, performance, and instant gratification!

I am ready to blog for me again; for the sheer delight of stringing words together, for the joy of sharing recipes that warm the heart, for the magic of capturing quiet moments at a bookshop bathed in light.

This is not about building algorithms or chasing metrics: it is about honouring the alchemy of living with curiosity, wonder, and connection.

It is about creating a sanctuary for us both: a space where heaven feels as though it has touched the Earth, if only for a fleeting moment.

My heart yearns to craft a realm of enchantment that feels utterly wondrous and healing: a haven where you can soften into calm, feel deeply beloved, and discover the quiet magic that nourishes your soul.

There is a yearning in me to return to what once felt so natural: storytelling as an act of self-connection. I want to blog not to perform, but to live through my words and images.

The era of instant gratification, where trends last a fleeting moment and nothing seems built to endure, has left us adrift.

Yet, within me, there is a profound longing for a world that slows down once more, inviting us to savour the beauty of long-form, of depth, of presence.

I’ve always been a naturally slow soul, moving through life at a pace that allows me to immerse myself in every detail and every nuance.

Part of understanding my capacity has been acknowledging and honouring this truth.

I don’t want to rush through reels or get lost in the cacophony of loud, fleeting videos. Instead, I want to permit myself to revel in the quiet rapture of living deliberately: of pouring myself into the details, of embracing the slow, sacred rhythm of life.

So bring on the blogs once more (and I pray this reflection by breathtaking Emmie Rae from The Daily Rest does manifest in 2025).

Let us celebrate wondrous posts drenched in our sacred callings, where words become an offering of presence and devotion.

Because with all my heart, it is my deepest longing that we rediscover how to slow down enough to witness the beauty that is already here, patiently waiting for us to notice.

Navigating the Digital Evolution

Away from blogging, you may be wondering in what corners of the internet I have sought refuge and nourishment.

Well, one very cherished soul I’ve learned so much from is Robert Ohotto. There was Georgie BEFORE I was in Robert’s classroom and there’s now Georgie AFTER finding the balm that is in Robert’s classroom.

Robert Ohotto has been a beacon of light in my life since 2020, a time when I was searching for grounding amidst the upheaval of chronic illness and the relentless pace of the modern world.

Robert’s teachings have not only illuminated the intricacies of our digital age but have utterly transformed the way I live, love, and create. Truly, my destiny, my relationships, and my very sense of self have been reshaped under his wise guidance.

There are so many blog posts to come that I will devote to this, but Robert’s teachings have expanded my view of life in innumerable ways.

For today, I want to share about the seismic shifts occurring in this digital age that Robert has guided me in.

If you would also like to receive the blessing of this wisdom many of the aspects of his work I discuss come from this life-altering body of work here on Youtube:

As Robert so profoundly discusses, the internet is not just a tool; it is an extension of our collective nervous system. Each time we connect, we are reshaped. Not just emotionally or mentally, but vibrationally.

“When you get online, you tap into a nervous system that is tapping feeling and information into you.”

This truth has illuminated so much for me: why the constant flood of information feels overwhelming, why we crave nature more than ever, and why so many of us feel as though our nervous systems are stretched to their limits.

As Robert unravels, it’s not about good or bad; it’s about evolution. But how do we manage this shift in a way that honours our holistic health?

One of the most life-altering lessons Robert has shared is this: Your psyche is not engineered for constant expansion.

In a world that glorifies relentless growth and productivity, this truth felt like a revelation. A true exhale.

As Robert has taught me again and again: There is wisdom in contraction and a sacred pause to reorient, resource, and realign.

Culture rarely encourages us to break free from the pressure to always be more, to always do more. Instead, he reminds us: For now, be Winter.

This understanding has been deeply personal for me. Since my diagnosis with Scleroderma in 2018, my life has naturally entered a winter period: a time of stillness, contraction, and profound reorientation.

It has taken over five years for me to navigate this season, to honour my limits, and to allow myself the time and space to grow in new ways. The awareness and clarity I have now simply weren’t possible back then and I’m learning to stop berating myself for that.

This slow gestation has taught me that destiny unfolds in its own time: it cannot be rushed or forced. As Robert often says, “You can’t Amazon Prime your soul’s evolution” (see isn’t he just wonderful?!?!)

Robert also teaches the importance of living in alignment with your soul’s integrity to: “Reorient your soul in such a way that you don’t need to sacrifice your holism.” This has become a guiding affirmation for me.

Too often, we push ourselves to meet external expectations, sacrificing our well-being in the process. But true fulfilment comes from honouring our inner rhythms, not from chasing the noise of the outside world.

At the heart of Robert’s teachings is a daily question that has become my compass: How can I be the answer to someone’s prayers?

This question is not about grand gestures but about small, meaningful actions that ripple outwards.

It is the very essence of what I hope to offer through my blog: a space where you feel seen, beloved, and gently held by the enchantment of life.

For those navigating chronic illness alongside me, I long to live out this question in ways that soothe and comfort.

If I can create a recipe that brings ease to Gastroparesis, a craft project that lightens the ache of Scleroderma, or share words about how I am learning to live alongside these challenges so that you feel less alone, then I know I am honouring this calling.

For those who come seeking enchantment, this same intention applies: every story, reflection, and creation is an offering to remind you of the beauty and magic within and around you.

Whether through a recipe, a poem, or a glimpse into my own journey, everything I share comes from the same heartfelt desire: to help you feel beloved on earth, to offer solace, and to awaken a quiet wonder in your life.

This blog, my sanctuary, is where I bring these teachings to life. It is my way of helping you slow down, reconnect, and navigate the overwhelm of our times with grace and intention.

For me, this is the heart of re-enchantment: creating from a place of rootedness, not restlessness. To blog is not simply to share; it is to find my way back to myself, to make sense of the world around me in a way that feels alive and deeply nourishing.

A Gentle Commitment

As I close this reflection, I feel a profound sense of gratitude: gratitude that my blog, my most loyal friend since 2009, has found its way back to me.

And as I move forward, I want to honour this truth in every corner of my creative life. Here’s how I envisage this new return to wonderment….

  • My blog will remain a sanctuary, a place to weave enchantment without urgency. But I am brimming with posts to share and just recently purchased new props for photos so I will create a loving schedule of consistency that feels self-honouring.
  • My newsletter, Whimsy World, will now flow with the rhythm of the seasons, arriving quarterly to mark each new chapter in nature’s unfolding story. It’s been incredibly challenging to write monthly with my health flares and tending to other emergencies. On top of that, not having a functional blog made me feel insincere. But, now my blog has returned to me, I feel utterly renewed. If you are not already subscribed I would be so honoured to welcome you here (it’s 100% free and, if I do say so myself, crafted with care and intention on Mailchimp so it’s not a Substack style of newsletter. More like the magazine I long to create one day).
  • My podcast, too, will return in 2025, offering seasonal reflections at a pace that feels sustainable and soulful. If you’d like to listen to the episodes to date you can do so here.
  • Then to my beloved Gastroparesis cookbook, where I hope to offer nourishment to those navigating similar journeys. I have finished this 80% and then absolutely crashed on energy, resources and capacity. In 2025 I look forward to sitting down once again to edit this (all 200 pages!).

But most importantly, I will approach my creative work, be it blogging, teaching through The Academy of the Enchanted Arts, or simply living, with an intention to align with my own joy and inner alchemy.

This is how I will answer Mary Oliver’s enduring question:

“What is it you want to do with your one precious life?”

Though my postings will no longer be as frequent, I eagerly anticipate discovering new rhythms that honour my capacity and reflect the harvest of where I stand in life today.

This season of my journey is about aligning my efforts with what truly matters and pouring my energy into what feels most precious.

For me, the answer lies in creating a space here that enchants, comforts, and inspires.

A space where we can all pause, breathe, and remember the beauty and wonder of the world.

So, here’s to the return of whimsy, the enchantment of the everyday, and honouring the rhythms of a life lived deeply.

Thank you so deeply again for being here and not giving up on me.

Please do stay in touch and let me know how you get on embodying anything I have shared. I promise to keep showing up with more from my whimsical world to yours.

If anything from this post has resonated with you perhaps you might like to feel into these reflective prompts:

What feels most precious to me? Amidst the whirlwinds of modern life, what treasures deserve my deepest care and attention? What seeds have I planted, and how am I tending to them as the gardener of my days?

May the rest of your day, week, month and year be full of the moments that remind us of what is wild, precious, and worth devoting ourselves to.

With love and infinite blessings (always, always)
Georgie xoxo

PS: I want to honour @ana_marta_dias artistry for her photography in this post who is truly an Earth Goddess.

This whole visual hints at something truly special to come: my upcoming workshop “The Language Of Flowers”.

Because alongside working on my Gastroparesis book, I’ve been completely immersed in this enchanting world of Floriography.

The essence of Floriography has always enchanted me, and I’m so grateful to Ana for making this image radiate with that very magic.

Every petal, every detail, speaks to the beauty of this enchantment and I can’t wait to bring this to you very, very soon! Meanwhile, I made this special digital e-book you can download right now for free and get started on your floriography journey!

Share and Enjoy !
