It might be Spring here in the UK, but as many of you know, Raynaud’s disease is an all-year-round deliberating condition that can occur at any time of day. And in any season.
As a result, I’m constantly searching the market for anything that can help alleviate these symptoms and allow me to be as comfortable as possible despite my severe Raynaud’s.

Today, the product I’m testing is kindly gifted from OCOOPA with their incredibly cute portable and rechargeable Hand Warmer. And, of course, I just had to pick it in this sweetest pink shade!
Before we start diving into how the OCOOPA Hand Warmer works, let us first look at what Raynaud’s Disease is (I have a whole section for my Raynaud’s posts right here). Following this, we can see how it worked for my Raynaud’s phenomenon.
What is Raynaud’s Disease?
Raynaud’s disease (pronounced as ‘ray-nose’) is where the small blood vessels in the extremities such as hands and feet, fingers or toes are over-sensitive to even the slightest changes in temperature, the cold and sometimes stress. This causes a Raynaud’s attack where the fingers sometimes change colour, but not always, from white to blue, to red.
Raynaud’s phenomenon is a common condition thought to affect up to ten million people in the UK.
Here are some unedited photos of my Raynaud’s just before I tested the OCOOPA handwarmer:

For some people, it is no more than a nuisance and can be very mild, but it can also be much more severe, interfering greatly with one’s daily life. The above photos display quite mild Raynaud’s for me.
There are two different types of Raynaud’s: Primary and Secondary.
Primary Raynaud’s is usually the less serious of the two types as the condition is mild and manageable. Meanwhile, people experiencing Secondary Raynaud’s will usually have more severe symptoms.
I have secondary Raynaud’s Disease as I also have the auto-immune disease called Scleroderma (you can find further information about this on my blog right here).
The OCOOPA Hand Warmer Unboxing
OCOOPA is hailed as America’s leading hand warmer brand, bringing warmth and comfort into your everyday.
In fact, as the leading brand in the field of electric hand warmers, OCOOPA has been specialising in technical research and development since its establishment. So, I definitely know I am in safe hands!

Whilst I am reviewing this product to see if it can bring natural comfort to Raynaud’s sufferers like myself, it should be noted that the OCOOPA hand warmer has a multitude of uses!
This includes camping trips, playing sports, outdoor events, offices, school, travel and on-the-go to tend to cold hands.
Then, of course, there are the plethora of people the OCOOPA hand warmer can help those who, like me, require heat therapy for medical ailments. This includes Raynauds, muscle pain (in your back, shoulders, abdomen, legs, and arms), arthritis and much more.
Your OCOOPA Heat Warmer package includes: 1 Hand Warmer, 1 portable pouch, 1 charging cable and a sweet gift card. The little gift card with stickers was such a sweet touch!
How does the OCOOPA Hand warmer work?
Before I tested it, I unravelled it from the minimal packaging (thank goodness!) and charged it up in my laptop for about 1 hour.
Once charged, OCOOPA’s portable, and rechargeable battery operated Hand Warmer ensures long-lasting heat for an impressive 12 hours.
When it’s all ready to go, you then simply press the white button in at the top.

Pressed just the once, it activated the lowest heat but this can go up to 55 celsius (131 Fahrenheit) by pressing it two more times (if desired).
To my complete surprise, it heated up in just 30 seconds. This is perfect and vital for those with Raynaud’s when a cold attack starts.
As you use the hand warmer, the battery and heat indicator lights will show you quickly the selected heat settings and battery remaining.
Impressively, it doubles as a backup battery for your USB devices. Literally how handy is that?! So it means that if I’m on the go and my phone is out of battery I have this wonderful little thing to rescue me on both accounts.
I love that I can also charge it in my car or when I’m working at a cafe in town. This feature is so convenient. It also means I always have something to rely on to keep me toasty and warm.
Does the OCOOPA Hand Warmer Work? Before and after
Well firstly, let’s talk about how it feels and looks in the hands. And can we then talk about that pretty pink shade? But don’t worry, if that’s not your thing, you can also find it in: Black, Blue and Orange.
With a soft and comfy smooth surface, the curved shapes allow you to easily wrap your hands around to enjoy the warmth from across the palm down to the thumb. Even more comforting is the fact the heat is on both sides.
I love that it’s so portable and the size is so perfect for the palm of your hands. It’s also discreet enough to pop into your pockets and even into gloves without weighing you down.
So features and convenience aside, how does the OCOOPA Hand Warmer perform?
Above are some before photos and you can still see some Raynaud’s on the two photos shown here:

And here are the after photos:

As you can see in the above photos I had Raynaud’s showing most obviously at the tip of my fingers.
With a one-button click and easy to use system, the OCOOPA hand warmer is ready to use pretty much instantly.
To start, I had it on the first heat setting, however, I needed to use the highest heat to make my circulation fully come back.
Having said that, I felt it was beneficial to have that gradual heat rise as sometimes applying boiling heat to Raynaud’s can cause pain.
After 5 minutes, I felt instantly comforted by the warmth, and by 30 minutes my Raynaud’s had diminished entirely. For me, this is extremely good and something that could only be achieved if I sat in a sauna, or similar!
Overall, I would so highly above and beyond recommend the OCOOPA Hand Warmer. This darling, pretty, lightweight tool packs such powerful results with undeniable comfort.
I’m most excited that with the arrival of this in my life I am now able to never waste my time with the disposable chemical hand warmers you find in chemists.
I find hand warmers of this nature to be so messy and not eco-friendly at all. This, however, is so perfect and scores on all points.
Moreover, this is a long-lasting and reusable technical aid that makes far more economic sense if you’re a Raynaud’s sufferer like myself.
I really cannot imagine being without my gorgeous lightweight and sleek handwarmer from OCOOPA and I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to try this.
In fact, it’s just so good that I might get two just so I always have one on me! The Tiffany Blue shade is calling me too!
