Barry M Nymph Radiance Serum Review

Who doesn’t want the skin of an ethereal Nymph? Well, Barry M have created Nymph like skin in a bottle with their ‘Nymph Radiance Serum’. But does it give that eternal glow of the Nymphs?

Barry M Nymph Radiance Serum Review

Nymphs, (from the Greek word ‘nymphai’) are mythological nature spirits who appear as beautiful young women. Nymphs were usually associated with fertile, growing things, such as trees, or with water, and often depicted in many Pre-Raphaelite and Victorian paintings such as the example below.

‘Hylas and the Water Nymphs’ by Henrietta Rae

Growing up, Barry M was my absolute brand of choice for beauty and somewhere I’d quickly spend all my pocket money at! Honestly, I STILL to this day swear by their Dazzle Dusts in particular.

Recently I was on the hunt for a new primer and after seeing rave reviews for the Unicorn Primer Drops I immediately added it to my wishlist as it’s said to be a wonderful dupe for the much-loved Farsali Unicorn Essence

Once I got to the Barry M counter suddenly my attention went from Unicorns to Nymphs. The Unicorn Primer Drops are packed with superfruits such as acai berry, goji berry, watermelon and tamarind and it aims to brighten, detoxify, hydrate and smooth the skin for the perfect primer and skincare treatment.

On the other hand, The Nymph Radiance Serum is enriched with anti-inflammatory apricot oil, brightening papaya and soothing tea tree oil, to leave skin feeling soft and supple for perfect makeup application. My skin at the moment is suffering from the odd hormonal breakouts (thank you, PCOs) and some redness so I felt the addition of tea tree oil would be more soothing for my current skin type.

I must admit I was highly dubious of a face oil that claims to be a primer but I’m a curious soul, and trust in the alluring beauty of the nymphs!

Firstly, I used the oil overnight to see how it would fair. Used as an enriching night treatment, it sank in remarkably quickly for a face oil, and in the morning I had soft, luminous skin akin to a youthful nymph! It even minimised the redness my skin had.

The next test was to see how well it would fair as a primer for the day, and I must admit, I was a little sceptical! I decided to wait a few days so that I wouldn’t overload my skin.

To start, I applied two drops to my skin and patted it into my skin. I then got on with some errands to allow it to truly absorb into my skin. This was fairly fast, but by the time I came to apply makeup, I must admit, it was more ‘oily’ then I am used to. Nevertheless, I carried on with my routine and the result was a really dewy, radiant finish, and I was sold!

Overall, I have a lot more testing to do with little product, but I am in love with it so far. For just £7.99, it’s such a versatile wonderful addition to have in any beauty bag. From overnight serum to primer, to something you could use on your nails or mixed into foundation, I think it’s a truly magical product to own. Plus, I just adore the inspiration from mythology.

How many of you are Barry M fans? Have any of you tried the Nymph Radiance Serum? Or are you a Unicorn Drops Primer fan? Let me know what other recommendations you have in the comments below and any primers or oils you swear by.

For the last few years, I’ve actively become very conscious with my make up purchases and I much prefer having a smaller collection than anything like I may have had in the past! But I do so hope you enjoyed this little beauty review as I’ve had a lot of travel and lifestyle posts lately, so it feels nice to add a bit of variety to my posts! What do you think?
