Set in the New Forest National Park, Hampshire, in 40 acres of private grounds Rhinefield House’s afternoon tea is truly located in the most enchanted of locations.
The majestic Rhinefield House, known to locals as the ‘Jewel in the Forest’, is the only AA four red star hotel in the New Forest in beautiful Hampshire. It’s a spot in my home surroundings that has always meant so much to me and my family and you can visit this ye olde post from 2014 to experience a Christmas at Rhinefield.
On this occasion, I treated my Mum to an early Mother’s Day gift of afternoon tea for us both to enjoy both delectable treats and the gift of precious time together.
We have experienced the Rhinefield Afternoon Tea experience several times and it’s always a wonderful experience of the finest, most delicious handmade food with Taylors of Harrogate tea strained to your own taste, making for a truly memorable occasion.
My Mum’s tiers were laden with mouth-watering finger sandwiches filled with treats such as smoked salmon, cucumber and dill crème fraiche, ham and English mustard mayonnaise to warm scones with clotted cream and jam to exquisite sweet treats embossed with the Rhinefield House Hotel logo for a true stamp of perfection.
Dairy Free Afternoon Tea Variation
I’m sure for any of you reading this with a food allergy know only too well that finding a great place for afternoon tea is not always easy. Whilst most restaurants and hotels will cater for individual dietary needs, not all will bake something extra special so that you don’t miss out on all the delectable treats your friends are tucking into.
With an intolerance to dairy and a massive fan of afternoon tea treats I certainly wasn’t disappointed with this beautiful offering from warm scones drenched with jam, to dainty sandwiches with plant-based fillings to truly decadent, divine sweet treats from flapjacks to mini chocolate cakes. It was all so thoughtfully selected and I felt like I had the same quality as any regular person enjoying this special treat.
The History Of Rhinefield House Hotel
Like a magical secret, Rhinefield House is located deep within the heart of the New Forest National Park through a myriad of long roads lined with trees as far as the eye can see. When you finally arrive at the hotel, along the winding open driveway, you then reach a magnificent building full of character in a true fairytale setting.
Built in 1887, Rhinefield House is an impressive mix of Tudor and Gothic architecture. Once you step inside the stunning building, the aura of magic simply deepens with rooms such as the Alhambra Room, that is bedecked in glittering jewels to the Armada Restaurant, a rich period dining room with the most elaborate wood paneling that adds a fantastic sense of style and distinction that is carried throughout the hotel.
The interior is perfectly accompanied with a stroll around the beautiful gardens that feature ornamental ponds, fountains and terraces, that are especially enjoyed after a wonderful afternoon tea treat!
How many of you love the New Forest? If you live within the surroundings like I do, have you stopped by Rhinefield House? If not, I think a special afternoon tea treat is truly a special way for what Rhinefield has to offer.
