Today, the 27th of November, is my birthday.
To mark this occasion each year, as I reflect on my journey, I find myself drawn to the tender, soul-stirring practice of writing a letter to my younger self.
It is a conversation between the wisdom of today and the wonder of what I once was: an exchange that deepens the bond between who I’ve been, who I am, and who I am becoming.
This letter is more than just a reflection; it is an intimate ritual of love, grace, and understanding. It’s not an example of the most polished writing in the world because it doesn’t need to be. It is my heart, distilled onto the page before me.
To make the experience even more meaningful, I post it to myself—not only to honour my past but to create space for healing, for celebration, and for a gentle invitation to keep shining in the most authentic ways.

Happy birthday, my whimsical one.
Another year around the sun, another tender turn, and here you are, still shimmering with the same enchanting light that has always been yours. 2024, my love, was a year of radiant revelations. You chose the word “Shine,” thinking it would draw you outward into bold, dazzling visibility. Yet life, ever the artist, called you inward, inviting you to illuminate the quiet corners of your heart. It wasn’t about being seen by the world; it was about becoming deeply aware of the brilliance that resides within you, even in the shadows.
In your journey of shining, you’ve learned something profound: that luminosity is not an endless blaze. Even the stars know when to set.
