Nestled in the heart of historic St. James’s Mayfair, Dukes London is a sophisticated, luxury hotel fusing modern and classic style so elegantly together.
Ever since King Henry 8th built his palace here in the 16th century, St. James’s in London has been the exclusive retreat of writers, musicians, politicians and royalty.
And to embrace true English style even further, afternoon tea at Dukes is such a lovely place to be, that is served on elegant tiered stands in the Drawing Room and Conservatory, overlooking a courtyard garden.
Vegan Afternoon Tea
I’m sure for any of you reading this with a food allergy, or who are vegan, know only too well that finding a great place for afternoon tea is not always easy.
Whilst most restaurants and hotels will cater for individual dietary needs, not all will bake something extra special so that you don’t miss out on all the delectable treats your friends are tucking into.
The vegan afternoon tea from Dukes features sandwiches in the form of oatcakes filled with cucumber and cress, and guacamole, coriander and black onion seeds, among others. Vegan sultana scones are provided, and pastries include vegan walnut and chocolate brownie, and blueberry ganache.
It was all beyond divine, and doesn’t the presentation just look exquisite?
To finish our picture perfect afternoon tea, we also both enjoyed a dreamy pink (mais, oui!) green tea with passionfruit that was so refreshing and light. The perfect accompaniment to this mini feast we devoured!
Standard Afternoon Tea
Aysh’s standard traditional tea had tiers that were laden with mouth-watering finger sandwiches.
The sandwiches were filled with treats such as smoked salmon, horseradish cream cheese, beetroot bread, baked ham, fig relish, smoked cheese and onion bread.
The next tier was classic warm scones with clotted cream and jam. This complemented the final tier of exquisite sweet treats such as a black Forrest bomb, white chocolate, raspberry avocado ganache mushroom, a lemon cheesecake and choux bun.
How many of you love afternoon tea as much as me? Do I have anyone reading this with a dairy allergy or who is vegan?
Have any of you happened visited Dukes in London for their vegan afternoon tea?
Please do let me know if you have any vegan afternoon teas you’d recommend- both in the UK and elsewhere!
