Just before I left for Japan I sent out some gift boxes to a few selected bloggers to celebrate the launch of my Boudoir Headbands from Beauxoxo (head to my Instagram to see a few of the boxes opened by said bloggers!). The idea of the boxes was to join together with some very talented fellow Dorset companies to create a box that would incorporate a ‘pamper night’ theme. I’m going to do a separate post about this because I’m just getting a box ready to give away to one of you. Meanwhile, it was wonderful to meet the companies in person and here are some photos from my visit to Maiden Dorset who make the most beautiful unique candle designs I have ever seen.
Located in Broadmayne near to Dorchester, Maiden Dorset started five years ago under the name of ‘WackyShack’, a name inspired from the garden shed where our original designs were dreamt up. Originally Maiden supplied candles for weddings but eventually wanted to broaden their appeal so everyone would be able to experience their creations.
After a year of much experimentation, the Curve Candle from Maiden Dorset was born. The Curve Candles are truly a work of art with a flowing design that create an even more interesting shape when they start to burn. These truly beautiful candles are then decorated with items such as real dried roses and lavender, frankincense resin tears, hand covered fabric buttons, Indian vanilla pods and even chilli! Each candle is fragranced with a scent to match their design and are all lovingly handmade and packaged in Dorset in their workshop.
I was very kindly gifted a beautiful Button Curve Candle and it’s so special it deserves of post just to show it off, so look out for that soon! Meanwhile if you’re a candle fan be sure to stop by Maiden Dorset for something really unique to add to your collection.
