Today I am starting a feature I have been planning for literally years and something that is so highly requested: foundation and make up for very pale/fair skin! I feel that in the last few years pale skin is finally being embraced as the beautiful thing that it is, and I definitely credit beauties like Dita Von Tesse, Nicole Kidman and of course the gorgeous Nicola Roberts for this (as seen in all her fair beauty above). There will always be individuals who make snark remarks about being so fair skinned, and many cannot believe you wish to embrace being pale but I couldn’t love my fair skin more. With my Irish heritage, auburn hair, freckles and snow white fair skin I have always treasured my fair complexion because it makes me stand out. I have never used a tanning product in my life and nor to I possess bronzer (that’s a lie, I have a Too Faced chocolate bronzer I got because it smells of chocolate and used it for my eyebrows occassionally!) or anything like that. The only thing however that is tricky is finding make up that doesn’t make me look orange, and my fellow fair skinned girlies, we’ve all been there, right?!
So the ‘Pale Skin Diaries’ (that’s a working title or umm, the best I could do, to be honest!! Suggestions on a postcard, please!) will see me search high and low to bring you brand-by-brand reviews of how fair the foundation and concealers run. I will explore drugstore beauty, so Boots, Superdrug etc which include Seventeen, Revlon, Collection, Rimmel, GOSH amongst others, and then department store make up brands such as MAC, Bobbi Brown, Chanel, Laura Mercier and basically just everything. I will explore every single make up brand for you, my dear readers, my fellow Snow White beauties, to find out what is out there. I will review each brand individually and then link all the drugstore brands together and all the higher-end brands together.
I’m so excited to carry out this little project for you and I definitely want to hear from you all and what you think. The plan so far is to take a photo in store but I can already imagine the amount of stares this will gain so with regret I do not think I will be able to take my usual camera with me so I will be taking my phone and it seems the quality will be just fine as I did a little experiment today for you all! As you can see, I’m taking this project seriously my lovelies, I will not let you down. Make up for us IS out there, and I am determined to find it!
I hope my pale skinned readers are excited about this project, I’m longing to know your thoughts! What already, are you favourite brands for fair complexions?
